The time of the Dark One has passed, ended by the heroism of Raducan, now renowned as both damnor and savior of this new age. However, there is a new threat looming over Sylfe. The Dark One left his taint on the lifestream, the magical force that connects all living things and blankets the entirety of Sylfe.
The lattice has fallen into the hands of the deranged sorceror Merun Al'Caar, who believes he is a God. Using this absolute power over the inhabitants of Sylfe, he has solidified humanity's dominance over the races of the Old Age. Under the misguidance of his "Triune Church," mankind and a few converts from elder races are converting the lands into what they see as "paradise" while paving the way for Merun's transcension of his human body.
In the sky, the Grim Moon looms over the lands, a sign of the Convergence, a sign of the coming end of times. Just what role the denizens of Sylfe will play in this coming end is yet unclear.
In the ravaged world of Ehvin, an ancient malevolence is once again stirring. The Maelstrom, an unnatural storm born from warring energies left behind by Ehvin's cataclysmic past is beginning to make itself manifest again. In the shadow of Ehvin's rifts, the Epimandu, vile creatures with even viler intentions are beginning to rouse from their sleep.
The Reven are growing restless and they are putting out the call for even more Spark bearers, creatures born with a natural affinity for magic. The Reven are beings of great power, but this power came at a price, they could not leave the rifts unless they found their bonded partners who can only be individuals carrying sparks. These Reven are the polar opposite of the Epimandu, they are as much a cause for the Maelstrom as they are a solution for it.
The Grim Moon also casts its shadow over Ehvin and the Convergence is doing nothing to aid in the quelling of the unnatural tempest. The tides are changing and chaos is on the horizon.
Ëthan was once a land of divine beauty, where the cycle of nature was gracefully long, and each season could take more than two decades. Ruled by the Ayalla, special beings chosen among the mortals, the harmony of this seasons lasted through millenia, and could run forever... if it wasn't the sin of selfishness. The fear of death, the eminence of oblivion, can be too much, even for the divine entities. This is the dark point, when even the best intentions, dreams and feelings, can be corrupted. Even the power of love...
After centuries under the power of an endless Winter, mortals are reuniting to fight back the tyranny; a strugle between eternity and mortality. Could they cultivate generosity enough to fight the egotism, or are they just trying to fulfill their own desire? Who is the new avatar of order...or chaos?
Cael sighed, looking up at the gray mass of stone that the Ceree had recently come to recognize as a wall. Apparently, it was designed to look like a mountain when seen from the distance, for what reason, though, he could not begin to fathom. With another heavy breath, Cael took another step and ran his hands across the wall. To his surprise it felt nothing like stone, rather, it felt flaky and gritty at the same time. He looked at his hands and gave a start at the small crystalline particles stuck to the skin. He took a finger and licked it and his jaw dropped when he tasted something peculiar. Salt.
He ran back down to the Ceree, finding Salkethe within moments and presenting himself before the Ancestor in as formal a way as conceivable. "I like this lad" said Kaldreiia, coming down from the distance "He makes you seem venerable." Her white body swayed with every step she took and her grace really was striking. The mother of dragonkind seemed like someone to hug in times of trouble, and Cael definitely wanted to do so. The Yedruun forest was now just a smoldering forest of blackened trunks and the forest surrounding Avalhein probably looked the same. Even the most adventurous elf had the same respect for life as any other elf schooled in the protection of sylvan expanses.
"Father, the wall is covered in salt" said Cael with urgency that seemed out of place. However, by chance of seeing the sea as soon as he tasted the grains, he was able to put two and two together. Apparently, the high tide brought water to the wall. It wasn't impossible, given the almost-flat lay of the land. The event would spell disaster for the Ceree, but the barrier should hold back at least a little of the incoming water.
"Call me Triethe!" said Salkethe grudgingly after Kaldreiia's earlier comment. "Salt? Then that would..." he trailed off, thinking deeply, not even once casting his sights about the waters. He paced in front of Kaldreiia who was snickering. She had seen the relation almost immediately, having been looking at the blue expanse beyond the land while Cael was talking.
"The water goes up to the wall when it comes in at high tide!" she said, exasperated, after Triethe had been pacing for two minutes. "I never thought you were THAT slow" she exclaimed, irritated at Triethe's apparent lack of initiative.
"You fell for it! And I thought I was the slow one!" burst out the ancestor, with Cael looking at him in wonder. "Ha! Take that Kaldi!" he continued. Laughing, he put an arm around Cael's shoulder, shaking the boy around and said "Well, that's what we're here for."
Kaldreiia grunted in annoyance.

Seraph looked and saw what appears to be a wall in front of him. " Where are we Noundele?"
" I have no idea. But let's regather our troops. I know for sure the inhabitants won't let us in. They must be scattered along the continent. Let's go."
Seraph searched the continent for his men. It took him a few days to find them since the continent was mostly underwater. After he gathered all of his men, he went back to the wall where he woke up and saw Radu and Liara. " Hey guys. What do we do now?"

Radu was laying next to liara, amteth's exhaustion had been passed over to him... He enjoyed the excuse to rest and be next to his beloved... He had overheard mention that the wall was covered in salt, apparenty becuase the water hit it at hightide "I smell a possible meeting of the cheiftan's over this " he groaned, he HATED politics. Though he could place blame on malkuthe. He wondered how malkuthe and saffye where.
Radu snorted, his father wasn't around at the moment. He was off to... Well he was sure the ancestors didn't even know. He sighed and snuggled closer to liara. He couldn't get himself to calm down over her, nor could he shake the feeling she wasn't telling him something...

Cael tried discussing a contingency plan with the ancestors, when unfortunately he felt the salty breeze from the sea. The tide was rolling in. He scratched his ear in annoyance and asked the acnestors if they could do anything at all about it. The answer was a resounding "We don't know" and that served only to dampen spirits more.
In an amazing turn of fortune, Cael heard the grating sound that only meant a gate was being opened. He stood there, looking at a spot in the wall where there had once been only gray. Now a huge arch climbed high and inside was the strangest thing he had ever seen. Humans! Lots and lots of humans.
The oldest seemed to be at their head and he had a blissful smile on his face. The other elves that were with the Ceree were frowning, torn in between disgust and relief. The elves, after all, had had a bad history with the humans. These humans, though, seemed to have forgotten what happened in the past.

Liara heard a grating sound an the wall opened up to reveal elves. Though they were elves with flat ears, not knife points. 'I suppose you're right,' she replied. 'Though not so much about the sea anymore, look.'

Radu nodded and stood. He blinked at the figures "humans? Immpossible" he shook his head. He stayed close to liara in a protective manner. He walked forward with her, stopping near Cael "are those really humans?"
Loud oohs and aahs followed the Ceree into the city. Cael was with them and he noticed that the old man shut the door after at least twenty Ceree had entered. Somewhere in the city, a sonorous deep tolling sounded Prime. Apparently, the humans thought it well to drop to their knees and sing in adoration to someone they called "Shara'hsbin". It was a strange custom and even stranger was that none of the people thought twice about dropping to the dirt.
Cael shirked from one of the humans that had dropped a little too close to him. Six times the chant rose and fell to the peals of the bell deep in the city. Six times the humans prostrated themselves and six times they sang. It was a rough tune and had a sort of rustic feel to it. Cael could not explain the sensation of hearing the song. It was way rougher than the elven melodies he had been accustomed to, but the humans' song was strangely nostalgic. It was as though the song was a memory from a far-off dream.
"Bah! These people have completely forgotten us!" said Salkethe in disdain. He had been gliding gracefully beside Cael, hand on sword hilt. Now, he was walking which was more like trudging if seen on an elf.
"What do you mean?" Cael looked at Salkethe in askance.
"Boy, don't you hear the song? It's religious chant" said Salkethe, his voice dropping in volume and intensity. The Ancestor then heaved a sigh. He was, after all, just an elf again.
Seraph kept searching for his people. He had lost them during the battle, and now he was sure that they were somewhere in Galaria. He had searched some islands which were few because from what he had read, most of Galaria was underwater. Unknown to him, Rubian had already left the group. Since he was so busy finding his lost men, he couldn't focus on the other people with him. When he finally rested at an island, he did a head count: only 4 people. It was true he rescued 4 people but he was sure there was someone else. Just then he remembered his Aespectrill ally. " Where's Rubian?"
[i]
Rubian was tired from his last transformation, so he was a bit sluggish. He decided to rest on a nearby island. He was sure Seraph wouldn't mind. He landed on the island and slept for the past few hours. After waking up, he found some animal sleeping and fed off it's essence. It was good, he never had a meal that good in ages. He decided to leave the isle and search for Seraph, but when he couldn't see him, he began to panic. " Where... Where is... Seraph?" He said while breathing heavily. He knew that he was lost, and there was little chance Seraph would find him.

Radu walked up to salkethe, rather against his will. His eyes glowed purple "these insolent humans" amteth's voice hissed "they bow to a non existant god! I blame you salkethe... Now this is why I created dwarves! Good race dwarves, small, strong, make excellent use of fire, and they worship the ancestors me in particular!" he gave a curt nod and growled "I should send every fire here sky high and appear before them in my immortal form! Show them who the real gods are!"
a old cloaked human walked to liara... He transformed into thorn, he nodded to her "may my son's fiancée and I speak privatly for a moment?" he bowed and led liara to the side of the group... He looked at her and sighed "is there something, anything you aren't telling my son?"
As Seraph went to sleep, Noundele was muttering to himself. " Stupid humans. I mean worshiping gods that don't exist. What a bunch of fools."
Seraph was a bit disturbed with what Noundele saying. " What do you mean Noundele?"
" The humans as you remember were wiped from existence and were never seen again. Though some humans survived. They have forgotten that we have modified Sylfe. They have made false gods such as the god of prophecy which could be compared to the seven of us. Their god of the sea could be compared to the Dark One. They have made the god of the sea evil because the sea swallowed most of Galaria and the inhabitants have developed a fear of the sea. I say, they're just plain foolish."
" Though it be good to make them remember about you guys, but they would protest and say that you're in league with their god of the sea and kill you."
" True. Noundele said with a laugh.
Rubian however, was having a hard time trying to go to sleep. He either had dreams of being lost forever, or turning into nothingness. He kept waking up and soon, he had a sleepless night. He was becoming arrogant because of lack of sleep. This would be a tough time for him.
Liara couldn't help but smile at the humans' song. It was strange, they had such rough voices but still managed to make music. And their clothes were so different to Cael and Salkethe's. She paced from one foot to another, slightly worried as Thorn approached her for some reason, leading her away from the others. "Is there something, anything, you aren't telling my son?" Liara stared down at the dirt, shifting it between her claws. 'No, I just worry for him,' she sighed, 'all these transformations that turn him to...well, not himself.' Liara turned to leave Thorn, beginning to pace away from him, but then changed her mind. 'And I...I..I may be with child. I don't know, but all of Radu's talk has made me wonder.'

at liara's comment about the transformations, Thorn gave a curt nod "I understand why the transformations worry you, they worry radu just as much as you. But I have spoken with amteth and he says that radu will have no more forms other than those he allready has, and radu only wishes to use them when he really needs it... And to protect you" at this he smiled and paused and waited a few seconds
thorn waited expectantly until liara spoke about possibly being with a child. He grinned "good, I'm hoping for a nice grandchild" he chuckled " I figured you where holding that back from radu. He seems to be worried about the possibilty of it... But I think he knows the truth, on a subconscious level. He isn't really sure but his actions tell a tale his thoughts cannot, he is feeling more protective over you... His parental insctincts kicking in and such..." thorn began to turn and walk away "I won't tell him about it if you don't want me to, but if your right it will show eventully"
Salkethe snorted when they were led to the steps of a marble temple that was almost entirely built into the wall. "How come the wall is concrete, but the temple is marble?" asked Cael, having learned about 'concrete' from Salkethe. The Ancestor's laughter pealed through the day, drawing eyes. He was laughing so hard at Cael that the lad started to comb his hair with his fingers anxiously.
"The wall is built ON the temple. It's not the other way around" said Salkethe in between the guffawing bursts of laughter. It was the first time in the day that he was happy. He had been somber for most of the day. When his eyes fell on the insignia above the temple, his jaw dropped. It was HIS temple. "The devils, that's my temple!" he hissed. He had forgotten that the humans worshipped him.
"Shh, remember, you're nothing but a normal elf here!" exclaimed Cael with great urgency.
Seraph woke up a bit sad and depressed. He slowly flew almost sluggishly as if he had no will to live. " Kid, what's wrong with you? You've been like this since you woke up."
" It's nothing really. I'm just worried that we won't win this battle."
" I know when you're lying. Tell the truth. Is it matters of the heart?"
" You got me. Well there was a female ceree I met during my days as a nomad. She was beautiful, and she was one of my closest friends in that place. When I had to leave, I was heartbroken. I'm not sure if I'm going to see her again. I had a dream where whe was consume by a strange darkness, and that made me sad."
" Ah. Hey, don't worry. After this matter's over with, we'll see that girl of yours."
" Thanks Noundele. You are one great ancestor."

Radu was still under amteth control, and at seeing salkethe's insignia he growl. His markings turned red "they worship you?!" ge growled. His fur was bristled and looked like it was about to catch fire "of all the stupid things! They forget the rest of the anscestors... Except salkethe...." he stopped himself before he went into another rant about dwarves being better than humans or elves...
Thorn left liara to think, dissapearing into mist. The mist skunk through the human crowd until it joined the ceree. Thorn appeared between radu and salkethe, making radu jump "I hate when you do that"
"Shut your yap Amteth, they use my temple, they don't worship ME!" said Salkethe, glowing redder in the face by the minute. "This is travesty I tell you!" he snapped at Amteth.
Cael jumped at the sudden change in atmosphere. He could almost feel lighting crackling in the air. In reality, the hair on the back of his neck was starting to rise. He shuddered and whispered something obscure to Salkethe. The ancestor grunted as the words left Cael's lips. After that, though, he was laughing and throwing looks at Radu.
The moment Salkethe's eyes fell on the crest again, he went dead silent.

Amteth growled at salkethe, seriously debating setting the elf's hair on fire in public... Which he vaguely remembered doing before in the past... But that would attract much uneeded attention. He growled at salkethe as the atmosphere began to change, a thunderstorm was about to begin. Amteth was about to scold salkethe about influencing the weather when Cael muttered to him. The storm stopped but salkethe was laughing at him!... Or radu.
The fires all over the humans village began to burn brighter as a low growl began in his throat. He calmed himself by quickly bitting down on salkethe's ankle. He nodded and looked forward at the temple

Cael was brought back to reality by the shouting of the elderly man that led them into the city. Apparently, they had been idle too long and the man was excited to show them around the temple. He could tell that this wouldn't end well and he could only imagine what kind of vandalism they had done to it. Salkethe might just level the entire city.
He led a bemused Salkethe up the steps, careful enough to look for any possible exits if ever the Ancestor's anger came out of hand. "Defiled my name, desecrated my temple... oh these people better have a reason why I shouldn't curse them to a life of blind wandering..." muttered the older elf under his breath. Kaldi chuckled.
She wasn't so amused either, but she took it in stride. She bent down and whispered to Cael "You better not be like them when you come of age young'n. Men and their pride, bah!" Cael smiled, amused. He made a hasty promise to Kaldreiia about that. He even jested that she should keep him from aging so as not to become like the two. She actually thought about it, making Cael tell her frantically that it was just a joke.
Inside the temple, Cael caught his breath. It was beautiful. He could tell that this wasn't the temple's original design, but it was grand. He could have sworn that the humans poured all of their resources in the building of the temple. High above the floor was an enchanted dome of colored glass that sent down streams of colored light. It set an ethereal atmosphere so wonderfully matched to the temple's milky white marble.
Streaks of gold ran across the floor and some sort of white mist covered it. The mist pooled right under the dome where it began to rise and create wonderful shapes accentuated by the light that seemed to pulse to a deep chant that echoed inside the temple. The gong tolled the hour and from the distance, four statues converged under the dome. Salkethe's eyes widened as the gong finished tolling High.
The statues' eyes brightened in a flash of light and sent the Ancestors to the floor.

amteth/radu looked about the temple in mock surprise, it was fancy yes... but it was nothing compared to dwarven work. radu groaned within his mind, fearin amteth would go into another rant about dwarves. these had been partly interesting at first... but now it was just getting old...
by a stroke of luck amteth's attention was caught by the musical gongs. he looked up to take in the sight that was unfolding before him and the gathered ancestors... that is he did until the statue's eyes brightened. with that came a strange yet immensly powerful pressure on radu's body. this forced the ancestors to the ground... but it had a different effect on radu and amteth...
amteth's spirit took spectal form as he was forced out of radu, and too the ground, needless to say he was planning a terriblefate for these humans. radu was simply left standing there, unaffected and confused "uhm... what?"
-- to the side a mist came from under the doors into the temple. this formed into a cloaked old human in blue robes, he was in surprisingly good shape for his apparent age. he sported a long white beard matched with white hair. his blue eyes covered with glasses and a pointy hat rested on his head. he also held aloft a long oak staff. thorn's human form seemed to go completely unnoticed by the humans in the room

"What is this power?!" exclaimed Salkethe, head ringing because of the blanket of sheer strength that covered them. He studied the statues as much as he could while squinting, their eyes were like thousands of suns to him. They looked vaguely familiar. He could not put a tag on it but the chant was making something come to him.
For a moment, a human figure made from the fog appeared and looked straight at him. He could swear that he heard it speak. "So we meet, Salkethe. I've waited a long time for you to come here. The temple is yours, and I am deeply sorry, but I cannot control the humans..." The voice seemed to resound inside his head and he looked at the other ancestors who seemed to hear nothing.
"W-what are you?" The simple task of speaking became a chore. The power that blanketed them was jarring.
"I'm Shara'hsbin. The people call me the God of Music and Prophecy, why, though I cannot fathom. You see, Salkethe, I was adorned God by someone called Red-Fang. I was once a human too, but, well, no one knew me back then. I lived before the great division... I died, but Red-Fang resurrected me and told me I was to be a god." Salkethe's jaw dropped. It was hard enough to think straight, but the simple fact that there really was a Shara'hsbin was too good to be false.
"Then why me?" asked Salkethe in earnest. "I was one of those who created the plane, why bring me down in this way?"
"Oh, so sorry, I forget that even a sliver of the Fayett's power can incapacitate a being born of the Eternals. I need your help to fight my brother, Sabra'no'a." The blanket lifted from Salkethe and he found himself able to walk again. Looking around, he realized that time had come to a standstill.
"Why?" asked Salkethe before he could think.
"You know the answer..." said Shara'hsbin with finality.
"He knows all your tactics, doesn't he?" said Salkethe, trailing off. He was deep in thought, looking for a darker motive.
"Not only that, but he wants to forge an alliance with the Dark One."

amteth listened in silence and shock he stood and popped his back with a groaned, only to find that radu was frozen in time. he poked him a few times but remained silent....
thorn stepped forward and snorted, accidently knocking over a old human who had been in front of him... thorn quickly set the frozen man back up as if nothing happened and turned his attention to Shara'hsbin and nodded to him respectfully. he looked at the ancestors, then back to Shara'hsbin
"i'm glad you are one of the more patient ones, Shara'hsbin" he chuckled leaning on his staff. "but as i know from experiance, people always get to where they're supposed to go... even if it takes eons" he grumbled a bit, straightening his glasses "back on subject, Sabra'no'a does want an alliance with the dark one, or algaisia as he was formerly known" amteth suddenly interupted "wait hw did you know his real na- *CRACK*" aamteth was thrown at a wall due to being hit in the face with thorn's staff, a feared weapon... "do not interuppt me... anyway, if this does happen, what will happen to slyfe and eventully shah'hain itself... well it's not a pretty picture" he said calmly ignoring the passed out amteth

"You seem to know a lot, Thorn. However, you do not know what Sabra'no'a truly plans. I figure you are only omniscient outside the planes. You haven't been outside long enough to know of recent developments, far as I can see" said Shara'hsbin with great gravity. He wasn't fully present in the plane at the moment, but he would have to return to fight his brother. "In matters of greater importance, the Fayett haven't been able to seize my brother's powers because they are still recovering from their slumber. However, I do not think they would seize his powers whatever the case. They had always believed in not interfering unless told by their so-called 'Mother-father'" muttered Shara'hsbin.
"Why us? The two of you have enough power between you to level the entire plane without lifting a finger" said Salkethe. He could find no reason for the two to hold back from smiting the sinister forces.
"You forget, the Fayett were in deep slumber by the time we were alive..." Shara'hsbin trailed off. "It was only by fate that fragments of their spirits came upon Thorn and I. We were taken to a distant plane, one that was under the Eternal Oath. There, we were given the power of the Fayett. However, we swore to not partake in anything unless it is absolutely required."
"You swore, but aren't oaths easy to break?" asked Salkethe. He had had run-ins with the Eternals long ago, but it seemed the Fayett operated differently.
"We wish, but in that plane, oaths take on a material form. They became crystals that were embedded in our palms, preventing us from breaking the oaths." Shara'hsbin's foggy form was pacing tirelessly across the floor, deep in thought. It was as though he was having a hard time remembering his own story. "The first battle against Sabra'no'a was one we were allowed to participate in. After all, he was a hazard to Shah'Haien. However, the moment Thorn sealed Sabra'no'a, we were no longer allowed to participate in anything to do with him or Sylfe, other than of course, other hazards to Shah'Haien. It became apparent that Oath decided what was absolutely necessary. She had no concern for Sylfe for it was not hers, but the Dark One is a threat to other planes, so we could attack him, however, we have not yet found the right time for doing so..."
"I still do not get much of this. Why ask us to stop the sealing of the pact?" Salkethe asked almost angrily.
"Shush, I'm getting there. When Sabra'no'a makes a pact with the Dark One, he would seize the Dark One's body. Then, he would no longer be affected by Thorn's Seal. On the other hand, we can no longer partake in anything to do with Sabra'no'a so we would be useless if that happens... Do you now understand why we need you and these fine heroes you brought with you?" Shara'hsbin stopped. A note of conviction still rang in the air. "Do you?"
"I do..." said Salkethe, trailing off. Never in his lifetime had he suspected that Sylfe would become so complicatedly entangled in the happenings of Shah'haien.

thorn nodded slowly and grimly "sadly everything my companion Shara'hsbin has said is true... i would've told you all this myself, but as he pointed out i am not fully omnipotent when fully residing within a plane such as sylfe, so i could not provide all the details of recent devolpments." he smiled a bit
amteth groaned as he stood, brushing off the bits of stone on him from being slung into a wall by thorn's staff "oww... that is one heck of a hit old man *evil glare fr4om thorn* i mean... i swear i'll help you two as well" he covered up quickly
thorn nodded curtly.... "now can we please let time flow?" he gestured at radu "i'm sure my son and the others would like to hear of recent developments"
Rubian couldn't find a single ceree and was starting to lose hope. He was afraid that he would never find his friends. He then decided to return to Alriiea hoping to find Seraph already there.
Seraph managed to find all his lost men. It was time for them to shadow travel. "Let's go everyone." He said as he opened a portal. Gray mist went out of Seraph and entered the portal. It took him some time but they were all able to make it back to the lake where the Sacred Wings reside. Seraph ordered his men to rest while he went to his room. There Noundele told him to meditate and enter his inner subconscious.
" Hello Seraph. Do you know why I've brought you here?"
" No Noundele, why?"
In Noundele's hand was a long double edged blade. The handle was covered with a golden string. Well Seraph, I've come here to ATTACK YOU!" He slashed his blade onto Seraph and he suddenly disappeared.
"Oh by Courage! Don't let them hear about it! They still have their own war to worry about." Salkethe stopped. His face suddenly grew sad. Kaldreiia's wings drooped at the mention of Courage and an uncomfortable silence lingered in the room. A look of despair flashed on Amteth's face but was quickly replaced with a hard look. "I'm sorry..." Salkethe trailed off.
"Whatever the case, he has a point..." said Kaldreiia without much thought. "Let the mighty beings fight their war, the not-so-mighty-but-powerful-all-the-same beings theirs." She laughed at that and her sonorous peal of laughter shook the building.
"Then let it be." Shara'Hsbin looked at Amteth who was suddenly bound by chains of rocks. The Ancestor struggled, but Hsbin's magicks were too strong. Soon enough, the Ancestor was encased in a cocoon of solid earth and Kaldreiia cried out in rage. She was restrained by both Salkethe's hand and a barrier slammed between the two. "Don't worry, this shouldn't hurt him."
When the cocoon fell away, Amteth was no longer a spirit. His old body had been restored.
